Dr. Stephen Baker is a plastic surgeon who completed his medical school, residencies, and fellowship training at a prestigious Ivy League institution, the University of Pennsylvania. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and was named in Washingtonian's Top Doctors for Cosmetic and Craniofacial Surgery. He is a full time faculty member and the Program Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. He practices all types of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and has particular expertise in plastic surgery of the face.

Dr. Baker's academic affiliation keeps him at the cutting edge of the latest plastic surgery techniques. He has published numerous articles, chapters, and even a textbook on topics of both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He has lectured nationally and internationally as well as been invited as faculty to meetings sponsored by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr Baker engages in clinical research to develop new techniques that will enhance the quality for patient care. His research has led to US patent applications for techniques in fat grafting for soft tissue volume augmentation as well as methods of non-surgical fat removal.

Although Dr. Baker is developing new strategies for plastic surgeons to help their patients, he only employs the latest techniques that he views as safe for his patients. In fact Dr. Baker serves on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ Safety Committee and plays an important role in developing standards of safety and excellence for the specialty. Additionally, he serves as an official spokesperson for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a nationally recognized leader in the specialty. However, the most important part of his practice is his patients. His true intent is to treat every patient as he would want himself or his family to be treated. Dr. Baker's goal is to achieve the best result possible result for each of his patients while maintaining the highest ethical standards of the profession.
