It is important to note that with the advent ear molding therapy, these types of protruding years can be corrected within the first 3 to 5 weeks of birth. If you know of anyone with a newborn who has protruding ears (or any other ear abnormality), please have them call our office to be seen and evaluated, ideally, within the first three weeks of birth. We employ a nonsurgical method which is typically covered by insurance to correct the ear abnormality thereby negating the need for future surgery and out-of-pocket cost for what is frequently deemed cosmetic surgery.
